August Favorite 15'

Looks like the time has come! Another post on my monthly favorites. The things I used most in a month, You all get that right? Anyways, as per my previous post I will at least have my top three favorites. So, here goes ey?

NYX Blusher in Pinched

I've never tried any of the NYX face products before. But I can say this a good product for its price. It only cost me about RM 30 for this. I've used many blushers before, from MAC, Clio Professional and others. And yet, NYX has never come to mind. I was randomly looking for a blush and the lady from Sephora introduced me to this, Little that I know, I went looking up for reviews after I bought it and found out that Pinched blusher by NYX were compared a lot to Orgasm blusher by Nars! I've never tried the Nars one though, perhaps one day if I got the chance to I will definitely give it a try. The color of this blush is pink also with slight of peach. I thought this color would not suit my skin but oh hey! Right? I have tanned skin, and this suits me perfectly! For an everyday basis, this I love!

Passion Struck Hydrating Body Lotion by Victoria Secret

The second product would be my favorite session, Body Care! Woo! And I have actually used this one the most this month! As you can see as the picture attached, the product is Passion Struck Hydrating Lotion by Victoria Secret. I cannot clarify the price of this as I got it in a gift set with others items in it. Well, I love love love the scent of this! The fragrance is mild and floral! So sweet, I just can't control the usage. The mild fragrance would last up at least 4 - 5 hours. Amazing right? It comes with a flip-cap so there is no product wastage as such and its hygienic. Since I bought the traveling size. This item is always. Literally always will be in my purse (at this very moment. I mean, what's not to love with a mild fragrance carry on body lotion?

Seaweed Clarifying Toner by Body Shop

*Drumrolls, on the third item! This is one of the product I obviously use everyday. It's the Seaweed Clarifying Toner. This bottle of 200ml cost only RM 55. "Only RM 55", back in the days I would think more than twice to get a toner that cost RM 55. Jokes on me now. Oh well, as I get older I tend to get more specific on my skin care routine. That was when I experienced breakouts using Neutrogena (not that it's not a good brand, it just did not work on me). So a quick one on this product. I am actually using the whole regimen from the Seaweed collection, which by the way is suitable for Combination Oily to Dry Skin (me). But the toner is the one I love most from the regimen. Why? It is super cooling and refreshing once applied. I, of course use a facial cotton pad to apply and from there I could see those stubborn stains on my face that did not come out with just a facial wash. Clearly, this product helps me in so many ways! I just love this. Love!

Alright, that's all from me today. Hope you enjoy this post! For more to come! Oh, to all Malaysians out there, Happy Independence day!

P/S : Beauty does not always cost a fortune! Find what's great out there, with good quality! Trust me, there is many many of it out there.

Daiso Beauty Products Part I

Hello, earthlings! Today's post will be a topic on Daiso! Not entirely, but just on a few of their beauty products that they have in store. You know, there will be times where you're on a budget on beauty but still want to look perfect? That brought me the idea of sharing what I got from Daiso and how it did or did not help me. I mean they all cost Rm 5.30 each! (inclusive of GST). Why not? Since there are few number of product that I got from Daiso and I don't want to be writing a long post. I will divide them each for individual post. From here I could be more specific too! Let's move on to the first item, shall we?

On the first item, we shall start with a face product and that would be the Daiso Charcoal Mask. Again, RM 5.30 only! Okay, I decided to get this after so many times of watching reviews on Youtube and also after realizing with so little care, my face has got more blackheads / whiteheads. I mean, you all know how that annoys practically any human being right?

Daiso Charcoal  Mask

Before we begin with the actual review on this one, you must know that beauty is pain. Correct? Well this one is as like others peeling mask out there. Anyhow, I love this mask. This is preferred to be use alone, if any facial movement get involves this would not work well. You would understand why, if you get this product. The Daiso Charcoal Mask, not only help removes blackheads/whiteheads but also facial hair. Yes, in one go! Trust me, with lesser hair on your face, it feels so much better applying make up with! Again, for only RM 5.30 on this. I was not hoping much for results. I mean, it still requires a lot of this product applied to the face for it to really work. It takes a while to dry, and the texture is quite sticky. But other than that, I am a satisfied customer! Worth the pain, literally. Thank you Daiso!

For those out there, who's really irritated by their blackheads/whiteheads do get your hands on this! Yes, it might be weird buying a bottle of charcoal peeling mask for only RM 5.30 and expects magic right? But if you're adventurous like that, please do! Like I said, worth the pain!

P/S : They'll be more of Daiso Beauty if you stay tuned!

L'oreal Paris Extraordinary Hair Oil Review

Hi all! It has been six days since I last post something here. Well, let's just say I got too caught up with work and life that my planning just jumbled up. However, I'm going to use the time that I have wisely right now and post on a review today. Let's get started shall we? Today this post will be a review on L'oreal Paris Extraordinary Hail Oil on Normal or Dry Hair as per titled above.

Okay, if you do not know me you wouldn't know that I forever have super dry and frizzy hair. It is so hard to manage in the first place. I have gone through a lot of hair care routine to get my hair right. Almost impossible. I mean I know there will be a way to fix it, like going to saloon and all that. But for me, that is kind of a trouble knowing that I have a very limited time to pamper myself with and sometime the budgeting don't quite allow the pampering session. If you know what I mean. Anyhow, I must say this hair oil by L'oreal has been a really good help. It does work as mentioned on its bottle. The bottle is actually glass like, which I love. It's a multi usage hair oil, you can use it as a heat protector, to hold the curls better ever before going to the pool or beach to reduce the hair damage,
Amazing right?

It came with a "pump" cap, which all I need per use is pretty much a pump and a half. A little goes a long way! I don't really fancy the scent at first but after few months of using it, its a pretty decent smell. I must say, I can really feel the difference going a day without this. It really makes my hair feel soft, silky and shiny. It is a bit pricey for a drugstore hair oil but it is totally worth the purchased. I bought this bottle, at the price of RM 45.90 and it lasts me months, almost half a year?

This has honestly been one of my must have product! I've never have softer hair before without this.  So if you're deciding to get it or not, you should just get it. Trust me. I highly recommend this for those out there who are searching for a good hair oil. Hope this help!

P/S : Want some ideas on a 70's Rock and Roll outfit and makeup? Stay tuned for the next upcoming post!

Biore Cleansing Oil Review

First of all, before I begin with the whole review on this product. I have a confession to make, I've always disliked using makeup remover because they always smell like chemical and it stings in the eyes. However I've never found another makeup remover that works like this cleansing oil, which makes it very easy to remove and that does not hurt my eyes. Love!

Okay, let's begin with how I discovered this product. Back in the days, when I started to use makeup in the first place. The removers I was using were the oil + water base ones. Honestly, I dislike those very much as mentioned earlier. It leaves me nothing but a very bad panda eyes, and oiliness on face. Ew. That is when a friend of mine from the Beauty Academy introduced me to the Biore Cleansing Oil. Knowing that I was just a student back then and wasn’t really earning anything to be buying high ends cleansing oil. Biore’s would do okay. And guess what I loved it ever since! I’ve used it for so many years, up to now. Say about 4 years now? No regrets, at all! Honestly, for a bottle of 150ml I only had to purchase 2 bottles per year and that would be enough! No kidding, a bottle would last me up for half a year. The product removes makeup fantastically. The oil is thin yet it does thorough job! When water is added to the face, the oil turns milky and washes away immediately leaving no residue. Nothing but a comfortably clean face. It doesn’t strip your face or leave it feeling tight. And the best part of all, it only cost me RM 21.80 per bottle the last time I purchased it! Worth to pay for right?

Lastly, I do not get any break outs using this method. In fact my skin is clearer as it pulls out the excess oil from my skin. Also my T-zone has become less oily throughout the day with this method. And that is why, I would recommend this product 100% to all of you out there. Hope this review help you in any way!

Exhausted & Confused

Anyone can be exhausted and confused at the same time. But I honestly am tired of it. At the age of 22, I don't even know what I am doing and where am I going ahead from this. And it kills me everyday, to end that 10 hours of working per day where people are eager to compete with each other like it's the last thing they would ever want to achieve. I know it's the only way for me to pay my bills and rent and I got no way out but to keep on trying to survive. Well, do people actually get a job they really love? Do others as well, get exhausted and confused at the same time at what they do like myself?

With love and confusion,

Early-Harvest Raspberry Shower Gel by Body Shop

Being a big fan of Body Shop, I have tried so many scents that they have in sale. But this one instantly became one of my favorite Body Shop scents ever! I got this on promotion it was like buy 2 for the price of 1. So the other bottle that I got was in Passion Fruit scent which is also lovely. The Early- Harvest Raspberry shower gel is a soap free shower gel that contains raspberries picked early in the season to preserve their freshness. It definitely has a sweet seasonal scent to it. With a Luffa the bubbles builds up luxuriously and I find the scent is both uplifting and perfect for Spring. I wish this line would stay permanently rather than Limited Edition though.

The price in retail would be, RM 29.00 per bottle which I find it totally worth the money for what outcomes it brings. I would definitely go back to the nearest Body Shop outlet and get more from this line. Since I just LOVE the scent. My overall review of this shower gel itself would be 10 / 10, due to it being so amazing! Good job Body Shop, they really out-did themselves with this one!

Go get your hand on this shower gel, you won't regret one bit!

                                                                                                                                A

Benefit They're Real Mascara Review

Mascara? Back in the days women used kohl and burnt cork to darken their lashes.Honestly, I believe mascara plays a big roll after eyebrow(s). Based on Marie Claire's post on History of Women and their eyelashes, "the first mascara was developed by Eugène Rimmel (yes, that Rimmel), a perfumer to Queen Victoria, and was primarily comprised of coal dust and Vaseline jelly. His invention caused quite a sensation." So much to talk about the history of mascara, and  after years there is so much out there that has their own benefits. Be it, volume, lengthening.

But today I will be reviewing, one of the "sensation" in mascara that would be They're Real mascara by Benefit Cosmetics. Now this mascara has been one of the must have item in the make up line. Yes, it does cost more that other mascara out there in the market. To be frank I did not purchase this, a friend of mine gave it to be due to it being waterproof as she favors non-waterproof mascara for it being easy for her to remove her make up by the end of the day. Anyhow, thank you Sarah! Okay back to talking about the mascara itself. I've always wanted this a long long time ago. But I was afraid that I'd fell in love with it (which I do now) that I would go spending RM 85 every time the tube runs out. Now that, I've worn it for months I would not mind spending that much money on a mascara that works so good!

This mascara gives me so much length and volume, all day long with ZERO fallout! Its a great formula, does not have a scent, goes on easily with no clumping. One coat is enough to make my lashes stand out. Two or three coats and you'll have super dramatic yet natural evening lashes. With the brush that came with it, it is super easy to use. That it makes me feel like my lashes are brushed and taken care one by one. Impressive right? All you need to remove this easily with is a strong oil based eye remover. I am using the Biore' Cleansing Oil , and it removes perfectly. No stains left.

My overall review on They're Real mascara by benefit? They weren't wrong when they say this mascara is a must have! Everything from the tube is working so well with me! I would definitely, go to the nearest Benefit outlet if this runs out. Worth paying RM 85 for!

P/S : Don't forget the eyelash curler for better effects!

                                                                                        With love,
                                                                                   Aleen

July's Favorite

Well, there will always be an item or two that you all out there will use frequently in a month. Sometimes, things that you have bought before but never been used but came to try to make it work and also new discovery! Mine, are both of the above. Let’s begin with the first item that I favored most in the month of July and that has to start with the basic, which is the Soap & Glory “Clean on Me Creamy Moisture Shower Gel” If you’ve seen my previous post on obsession on Soap & Glory you would definitely see this item on that post. First of all, the packaging are just too cute it always reminds me of the Benefit Cosmetic’s packaging using inspired pin up girls back in the days. Just lovely! That was actually the reason I became attracted to Soap & Glory. I still remember getting this item for the first time and went all crazy and planned to get more, which I did (referring to the previous post). Other than the packaging, the scents are just to die for! My favourite scent would be from the “Original Pink” range which was the first scent that came out from Soap & Glory, “With natural mandarin peel extract and bonus Built – In Body Lotion” What can beat that huh?

"Clean On Me Creamy Moisture Shower Gel by Soap & Glory"

The “Clean on Me” bottle, in 500ml cost me about RM 46.00 per bottle which is affordable to me knowing the outlook and the scent that it gives me.  Also, with the tick consistency that it carries, my bottle of 500ml would last me 2 months, more or less. Awesome right? This is actually my third bottle. I have used it, since early this year but I do change to something else like The Body Shop in Raspberry Body Wash. Not that there’s anything wrong with it though. I just felt like coming back to Soap & Glory due to be missing the scent so much!

"Kissproof Lipstick by Me-Now in colour 003"

The second item that I came to love would be the Kissproof Lipstick from Me-Now in colour 003. Now that season autumn is in, I know this colour would be handy to be placed in my purse all the time to keep track on the makeup trend if you get what I mean. The colour of this long lasting lipstick is very deep. It is very maroon – purple like kind of colour which I totally adore, it reminded me a lot of "Sin" by Mac which I love too! I found out about this Taiwan brand lipstick from a friend of mine, and wanted to see if it was as great as what people say online. Of course, I went to look up online for reviews on this brand. Knowing that it is only RM 10.00 per tube, I had to be extra conscious before purchasing it. Anyhow back on how good this lipstick is. Honestly, it is a bit dry that you need to apply a layer of lip balm before applying this but other than that I love how matte this lipstick is, the long hours that it last up to and the range of colour that they come in, totally adore! Again, for only RM10.00 the kind of quality that it provides, definitely worth the money! Like most of the Lip colour Lipstick out there, this one do come out a little if it touches oil especially the ones in your meal. To end this Kissproof Lipstick by Me-Now story, I now have all 19 colours from their range to go through the seasons all year long and loving it! If so anyone of you out there are interested in getting one do let me know by commenting on the comment box below! J

"NYX Eyebrow Pencil Crayon in EP04 Brown"

And onto the third item, that I favour most on the sweet month of July would be the “NYX eyebrow pencil” Okay, I am sure when it comes to makeups eyebrow is the most important part to do! Honestly, the worst I can do if I am in a rush and have just 10 minutes to do my face. I would ignore the base make up and go straight for the eyebrows, mascara and a tinted lip balm or a bright lipstick (depend on the situation). And that would do the trick. You know before I was in the makeup academy, I was a zero in makeup. I know nothing but just pretty faces in magazines and wonder, how did that happen? More little did I know about eyebrow(s)! But now after 5 years has passed from the first day I joined the academy, I would keep my Tutor’s words in mind and that would be “Do not, I mean do not leave the house without your eyebrow(s) done! That is just suicidal!) Helpful huh? It’s true, after years and years in the search of more tricks in makeup I explored the Makeup Gurus from Youtube, did experienced a few backstage job on doing fashion make up. Others as well, would say the same other than the base make up to keep your face flawless, the eyebrow plays a main part as well. Agree?

Oh well, enough said about history of me studying eyebrow(s) huh. Let’s get back on the Eyebrow Pencil by NYX. I got mine in the colour EP04 Brown which I think was the darker brown available on the counter than I went to in Sephora. Okay, I used a lot. And I mean A LOT of eyebrow pencil in the past. Not that I don’t like using the previous ones. It’s just that I thought it would be great to be exploring more. I’ve used one by Revlon that was okay as well for a drugstore brand. I decided to try the NYX once, after seeing one of the Makeup Gurus on Youtube raving about it also by coincidence mine was running out so I thought, why not right? Just recently before this, I was using the one by Catrice Cosmetics in the colour Charcoal, it was sold in Guardian, One Utama which I think for now any Guardian should have it? I’m not sure. Anyhow, that one was okay. But I realized the colour that Catrice Cosmetics is carrying is more suitable on pale skin. I don’t know if it’s because it is new in the Malaysia’s market? I’m loving the NYX one at the moment for it being easy! By easy I mean, it’s not those type of eyebrow pencil that you have to sharpen it when it runs out of arch. This one just needs you to twist it which really is helpful for me especially when I’m in a rush getting ready for work, I guess it’s like an auto pencil? Is that what you call it? And the texture of the pencil itself is gel like and very pigmented. It even mentioned on the pencil “NYX Eyebrow Pencil Crayon.” Again, what’s not like on a Crayon brow pencil right?

Seriously, this item runs out of stock very fast. After many visits to Sephora, I finally managed to get one in hand. I got mine in the price of RM 24.00, affordable right? There were of course a few other colours in range, but I went straight to the brown one as I know my hair colour is pretty dark. Oh not to forget, this one came to two tips, as in the pencil itself and a tip on the brush. Which I find it VERY helpful on helping me blend the colours on my eyebrow(s). Kudos NYX. Of course, I don’t use only that for my eyebrow(s), in addition I still add a very dark brown eyeshadow powder on my brow(s) to add in colour if there still imperfections on it and brush it with an eyebrow gel to make it stay in place and last longer.

Alright, beautiful ones. I guess that would be my three most favourite item I frequently use in July 2015. I have more things to share with you, but then I thought that would probably make this blog super long and probably as well get a tiny bit boring. There’s so much to love out there! Hope to be posting for more goods next time!

P/S: Enjoy every seconds to the max, as you might not know what you’re missing out there!
