Current Favourite Body Mists || Perfume

Ola! I have never done a post like this. Hope you guys enjoy reading something like this! Anyhow, based on the title. Today’s post will be on, the current favourite fragrance I have been using at the moment. By fragrance, I mean body mists and perfumes. I only have a few to be honest. I have not indulge myself in the fragrance department yet. Lol. Well, let’s get it going.

Okay, the first to begin with is a body mist! The most used one whenever I am in a hurry and things like that (that's why you could see the bottle being almost empty). And that would be the, Victoria Secret in Passion Struck. I remember mentioning the body lotion of this in one of my monthly favourites. Which is also why, I forgot the price of this. Because I got them in a pack of others as well. Sorry about that. It was a while ago, I can say. Back to the product itself. I really love the scent from this! Fuji Apple and Vanilla Orchid, oh my goodness, AMAZINGNESS! To me, the combination of those two complements each other well. It’s a warm fragrance not strong. It is a feminine, subtly sweet scent. My kind of scents! If you’re a fan of sweet, creamy scent. You’ll never regret getting this! As you can see, I’ve used this so much it’s running out! Probably a few sprays left! Eep! I shall get another one soon, since it’s so good! Like any other body mist though, the scent does not last long only for few short hours. If you have it with you for a quick freshening up. It shall do good.

Second item, again. A body mist! This one is from The Bath & Body Works. To be honest, this is the first item, bought from them. But I’ve realized something from them though, when I walked in their store, I realized they have this one signature scent from them that I can’t explain. It’s like in everything that I sniff, I’ll smell that one signature scent. I don’t know probably it’s just me. Oh wells, this one right here, really got me on the first sniff. It is perfect for a day out on the beach, I find. Haha, jokes on me now. It is called “Hawaii PassionFruit Kiss”. This smells so good! Like I could actually picture myself walking down Hawaii smelling like this. Well that’s a bit dramatic isn’t it? Heh. To me, this gives such fresh, subtle inducing scent! Very sweet. I have this is my handbag for this past week. However though, I feel that this last only for a few hours. Even the Victoria Secret one would last longer. I don’t know, cause sometimes when you spray on something you “feel” that it has got off. A few days back, I put this on. I thought its all gone the first hour but after 4 hours a colleague of mine was asking what I was wearing that smelled so much like his girlfriend? Lol, I don’t know. To round it up, it smells super good. This is a bottle of 236ml, at the price of RM 55. Best buy huh? Like where else can you get, a body mist with that amount costing that much right?

And onto the last one, Anna Sui in Romantica 30ml retailing at RM 170. This, oh my goodness, totally worth the money! To be honest, I’ve never bought an actual high end perfume on my own. This is my first. I got the sample pack in the December 2015’s Cleo Magazine. From there, I know I just had to get this! And so I did, seeing the actual packaging at the store. Oh my god, there was no hesitation on purchasing it. The scent of it, is some sort of an amazing sparkling floral. Features top notes of bergamot, mandarin, pomegranate, and quince ; heart notes of rose de Mai, osmanthus, jasmine, orange blosson, water lily and peony and base notes of cedarwood, amber, sandalwood and musk. It definitely gives me, the pleasure of wearing something sweet yet not too strong on my body. It gives sort of a soft, floral, calming scent. I just simply love this one. Even my boyfriend thinks this smells good. Well, that's definitely a win - win right? Let me know what’s your favourite perfume out there, I would definitely love to try others out there!

Have a good day!

Love,

The Body Shop's Limited Holiday Collection || Frosted Plum

Hey there, on this post I will be talking about the current shower gel & body scrub that I have been using for the past month. They are both from The Body Shop’s limited holiday edition for Christmas and I got them both shower gel and body scrub in Frosted Plum. I just can never resist The Body Shop’s body care! I think you would know that by now. I’ve got these products last November but only had the chance to use it, and give my thoughts on it. Better late, than never right? Anyway today’s post focuses on the Frosted Plum Shower Gel & Frosted Plum Sugar Scrub. So without further ado, let’s get started shall we?

Frosted Plum, as the name implies, is a fruity and sweet scent. As The Body Shop’s website stated it to be “truly sophisticated indulgence”. If you’ve used and liked the other scents offered by The Body Shop, then you would probably enjoy this one too. The smell that this range offers is really nice and strong in a soft way? You get me right?

The Body Shop’s Frosted Plum Shower Gel. I am a big fan, of shower gels and I am a shower person. Like any other shower gels, I got from The Body Shop. I really do like the consistency of this one. My first reaction when I smelled this, it definitely gives me that winter chills. Although, it was never snowing in Malaysia. You get what, I mean right the minty chills feeling? Last year, my boyfriend gave me a shower gel & body polish from the one in Frosted Cranberry. I honestly think that I loved that better than the Frosted Plum ones. As the Frosted Plum ones give a sharp scent rather than sweet. But I still do love this. This retails at RM 49 per bottle of 250ml. Which for a body wash from the limited holiday edition is still a worth buy!

The Body Shop’s Frosted Plum Sugar Scrub. Now this one was the one I was highly excited about. I have been using sugar scrubs all this while by Soap & Glory in Original Pink// Flake Away. I love how the textures and the thickness that a sugar scrub offers. And when the lady at the store told me that is has sugar base in it. Immediately I know I need to give it a try! Like all other product in the range, it is quite strongly fragranced with the Frosted Plum scent. However, I find it work almost the same as The Soap & Glory one. Except that this came from a limited edition scent? Comparing two of them, The Soap & Glory one was a worth buy as it is only RM 65 per tube of 300ml while The Frosted Plum Sugar Scrub cost me RM 125 per tube of only 250ml! Which is why, I find it worth being on sale only at a limited period. Still, the scent is a win!

There you have it, I know this post is very late. Like, I mentioned earlier, “better late than never” right? I hope you enjoy this post! And may we together find much greatness of beauty out there!

With love,
Aleen A

Drugstore Lip Balms Comparison

Hello there, I have been wanting to do this post for quite a while now. But never find the right time to do so.  Today, I just had no excuse not to! Based on the header, yes. Today’s post will be a comparison on drugstore lip balms. I have a few with me, and I just had to buy them to do a special post for you guys out there! The plan on posting this has been delayed, for about 2 months. Eep!

There’s three lip balms that I have in hand to be exact. Listed as per below,
1.       Maybelline’s Baby Lips Color in Berry Crush
2.       Nivea’s Fruity Shine in Cherry
3.       Mentholatum’s Lip Ice in Strawberry

Now, they all come from different brands, also they have their own specialties. I got them that way on purpose. So I could see what each could do best. Shall we start, on Maybelline’s Baby Lips being the first on the list?

Maybelline’s Baby Lips Color in Berry Crush. Okay, to be honest out of the three that I got. I thought I will be liking this the least. Why? I thought, Maybelline would not be producing good lip balms knowing the main focus of products from them are on Mascaras, Liners, and Lipsticks. And suddenly, this baby right here, wowed me! I cannot lie, this is the one I have on my vanity. Also the one I would apply every time I’m done moisturizing my face. Sometimes, once I am done with my make up, I would actually skip the lipstick as the Maybelline’s Baby Lips Color since it is already naturally tinted on the lips! Which is why, I love this more,it works as a hydrating and tinted lip balm and also it smells amazing! That’s like a 3 in 1 combo kind of thing right? This lip balm retail at RM 8.40 only!

Nivea’s Fruity Shine in Cherry. I got this just because, I’ve always wanted a lip balm that smells like cherry! I know how silly. But I also heard, that Nivea is good at what they produce. So I thought, why not right? When I first applied this, out of the three I thought this is the most easiest to apply with. As it is super moisturizing! As you can see on the picture above, the colour of this lip balm is in deep red. Pretty right? However, the colour does not pay off. It’s not tinted like the Maybelline one. This is just a normal sheer lip balm with a hint of red. And that’s about it. I would only wear this on certain days, where I don’t leave the house but still needs hydrations on my lips! Other than that, if you’re looking for a good moisturizing lip balm you should go for this one! Nivea gives moisture at its best!  This lip balm retails at RM 10.90 .

Mentholatum’s Lip Ice in Strawberry. Now, this one was the last choice out of the three. I just got this to see if it is any good. This is just a sheer, lip balm. Not a hint or a tint in it if you get what I mean. After 2 weeks, of testing this. I did not like it as much as the others. I feel like, it darkens my lips in a way. I don’t know if that is just me though. What I like about this is that it has this ice cold feeling on the lips once applied. Like how it mentioned on the product itself “Lip Ice”.  I feel like this doesn’t suit me much. Even if it is just a sheer lip balm. I also feel like, this would fit school kids who needs hydration but does not want to show colour at all. This retails at RM 5.00! Reasonable right? Amazing, how a lip balm could still cost RM 5.00 these days! Great deal though, Metholatum! Kudos!

And there you have it, comparison on all three! I hope you enjoy this post, and do let me know if you feel differently on these lip balms!

Much Love,

Aleen A

The Balm Cosmetics // Mini Collection

The Balm Cosmetics

Hey there, to those who has not heard of The Balm, they are actually a make up brand that was made and produced from the USA. The packaging are pretty much quirky, when I first saw it, I thought they were very similar to “Benefit Cosmetics”. Please, tell me I am not the only one? Seeing the packaging feels like I was taken back to the 50s era or something. Very quirky and cute. Now in the my collection, I only have THREE. Having so little, I still thought it’s a good idea to share the goods to you out there.

"Bahama Mama Bronzer"

Well, I am going to start with the product I have mentioned before here in my blog. That is, the Bahama Mama bronzer. Now, I have been loving this ever since I got it in my vanity! It works so good, so fine towards my skin. The colour, first of all suits my tanned skin perfectly! You know when, you get the right shade of bronzer and you have that feeling of confidence straight up to your face? I definitely feel that with this bronzer. The consistency is amazing, at first I thought “Boy! Aren’t this super pigmented?!” Yes it was, however it was not that hard to blend. With the right brush, and method, I promise you’ll get the look with this one! Everything with this bronzer fits me perfectly! I love it!

"Instain Blusher in Toile"

On to the second item, the Instain Blush in “Toile”. Okay to be honest, I did not want to get this in the first place. Well, I wanted a blusher, but not in this colour. I was in the One Utama’s Sasa outlet. It was a regular day, where I just went for a make up hunt after work. Thinking I wanted to get a dark plum, cool tone blusher. I wanted to go to MAC Cosmetics, but I decided not to cause I thought I’ll be spending a lot there. I mean, a blusher would probably cost me RM 90? I don’t know, I’ve never had any blusher from MAC. (Let me know, if they’re any good and also the price range. That would do wonders!) So I went to Sasa, hoping to get a blusher, for the price of RM 30 – RM 60. To keep the story short, I was persuaded by lust and good customer service. Not only, I did not get the colour I planned on buying, I also spent RM 89 for this blush! Not that, this is not worth it. I just thought, I could find a better blusher that this with the price range. You get what I mean right?

Other than the tragedy. I do find this blush working okay. I mean I have not own anything like this colour. So it is not a waste after all, just something new to add to the collection. I guess. The colour is warm, with a hint of pink tone. I must say it’s actually suitable for an everyday wear. Eventually, I like it. And, it’s called InStain for a reason! The colour is very pigmented. Not the type of pigments that would go off, through the day. I could still see the colour on my cheeks, even at the end of the day when I am done with work. And I work, more than 10 hours a day! No joke! I guess, if you are looking for a good blusher, that would last all day long, you could try the range from InStain by “The Balm”. They are actually not bad. Good thing, unexpected faith brought me to this, Lulz!

 "Cindy-Lou Manizer"

And the last product I have by “The Balm” is actually one of their sensational item! That is the “Lou Manizer” sisters! They are actually highlighters. I see them everywhere, on Youtube. Many of the make up gurus has it! They have three in range, but the one I have with me is the “Cindy-Lou Manizer”. I’ve seen many using the “Mary – Lou Manizer” and that one is the lightest shade the have in shimmering sheer gold. I was confused purchasing this. I wanted to get the “Mary – Lou Manizer” as I see many using it. However, the make up assistant from Sasa keep on insisting me to get the “Cindy – Lou Manizer” as she thought it would fit me better on my tanned skin. And so trusting her, I got it. In a way, I am not happy with the finish that the colour gives me. It is more of a peachy toned highlighter. I did not really get the finish that I wanted. I happy with the texture though. Everything in it applies smoothly on my face. I don’t know, perhaps I’ll be getting the “Mary – Lou Manizer” soon to see which works better. Probably, its just the inner me, still wanting the “Mary – Lou Manizer”. Let me know guys, if you’ve tried any from this range before. Overall, it is a good product!

If you guys are interested in these, you could find them in any of the nearest Sasa Outlet near you.

The price range on these products stated below.

Bahama Mama Bronzer – RM 75
InStain Blusher              – RM 89
Cindy – Lou Manizer    – RM 89

I hope you guys out there enjoy this post, do comment, on anything regarding “The Balm” I would love to have a Q&A on these.

Till next time, dolls!

Sincerely,

AA

New Hair Care Routine by Hair Milk!

Hi there! It’s been a while isn’t it? Today’s blog will be something exciting to me at least. I’ll be talking about my new hair care routine. To be honest, hair is something I care less about. It’s just troubling for me, as my hair is always frizzy! I just lost hope on it. And thinking that fixing it monthly will cost a lot. Well, thought wrong! On the previous New Year eve, I actually got a haircut, well that cost me a little, but it was worth it. Got rid of all the dead hair. I also decided to change the hair care routine. I’ve used to use L’oreal all the way. Nothing wrong with it, just does not work for my troubled hair if you get what I mean. Lulz

Hair Milk Complete Set - RM 129

This time around, I changed to a brand called “The Hair Story”. They came out with a range named “Hair Milk” now Hair Milk, is mentioned to be using real milk, produced from New Zealand. I supposed that’s supposed to be good? Right? I have been using this range for almost two weeks, and they have all work well individually.  You could find this, in any Hair Depot outlet nearest to you. Being typical Aleen, I fell from this product based on the packaging, printed with monochrome colours, picturing cows, how can you resist?!  Also, they were having a massive promo where, for 4 products (consisting, shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, and a leave on spray) only cost RM 129. One good haul right? The only thing is, even with normal price you could only find them in one size. Shampoo, Conditioner & Hair Mask: 500ml. Leave on spray: 268ml. But I assume they would all last at least 2 months? They told me, it was only until the end of 2015, I guess I was cheated, cause I recently passed by Hair Depot in Ikano, and they’re still selling it in the promo price. Cheated, yes. But its good news for those who are interested!

Hair Milk Nourishing Shampoo // 500ml

Let’s get started, on the first product by Hair Milk shall we? Shampoo. They came in two, one in the Daily Moisture Shampoo and the other in Nourishing Shampoo. Of course, I had to get the one in Nourishing as I have coloured hair and my hair is always unmanageable! To be honest, I love how this shampoo works, it feels super light! Usually, when a shampoo feels light to me, it always welcomes dirty dry scalp which turns to heavy dandruff you know, because it is not well clean and all that. Yes, I’m not kidding. Somehow with the one, although the texture of it is super light, I never come across to anymore dandruff on my hair! First time, I enjoyed a shampoo this much. Pardon me.

Hair Milk Daily Moisture Conditioner // 500ml

Conditioner, I tried finding the Nourishing Conditioner to go with my shampoo. However, the outlet that I went to, has ran out of stock. In the end I had to get the Daily Moisture Conditioner which is actually meant for normal hair & kids. Well, I did not have any choice did I? With this one, not reaching my expectations, it is not that bad at all. It does help, detangles, softens, and hydrates my hair. You know, like most of the conditioners out there. It is mentioned on its product, that it infuses deep moisture for manageable smoothness and protecting against split ends. Egh, we’ll see right?

Hair Milk Nourishing Masque // 500ml

Hair Mask. Okay to be honest, I have not used that much hair mask in the past (again, not a specialist on hair), So, I wouldn’t know much. But I have a used a few in the past, comparing to all the others that I’ve used, this one in Nourishing Spa, suites me. I use this at least, twice a week. It does provide, intense smoothing, long lasting conditioning, refreshing, and control. I used to be so lazy to keep my hair mask schedule accurately. But now, oh boy! I have to keep on track. I guess, taking care of my hair for reals, is part of my 2016 resolutions? Hehe. And with this, range. It works amazing! For 500ml, per purchase on the hair mask. I tell you, it will probably last 2 months++!

Hair Milk Thermal Protection Spray // 268ml

Lastly, Leave on Hair Spray. They were a few of these, but I bought the one in Thermal Protection Spray.  This also work, as a heat protector on the hair. I know I will be needing this, as I blow my hair almost every day! This leave on hair spray works for all hair types. It is as if a lightweight mist that glides through the hair. It smells like pure milk! I enjoy using this. I would spritz it at least, 4 – 6 times, since I have short hair. However if you do spritz it more than the hair needs. The hair would get oily by the day. But overall, this item is one of my favourite from the range!

I must say, after using the Hair Milk range, my hair do feel healthier! I definitely assure you guys out there to try this brand out as it is still on sale! Definitely a must have! As mentioned only, for RM129 and you get the whole regimen, definitely a worth purchase!

I hope you enjoy this post. Remember, if you have the time, do head over to the nearest Hair Depot to get your hands on these!

With love,
Aleen Abdollah
